Donations
I have decided to add a 'donate' button to the site, I have done this because we have had a few people asking how they can donate, and also to help us afford a better host and domain name. The load on this site is getting heavier and heavier, which means that before long we will need to upgrade our hosting package as our bandwidth already exceeds the limits set. I would like to stress that donations are 100% optional, if you dont want to donate, then don't :) We welcome donations of any amount from people who can afford to pay and want to help out. If you include a nick when you submit your payment, your nick will be added to a donors list to give you a little recognition for your contribution. Just an update, I added a donate button a while back to try and get a little extra cash as this site is drawing over 16gb traffic each month and as a result costing more :| This hasnt been as successful as I would have liked, so i've also added google ads now to try and get a little extra cash in. Would be great if you could click a link every now and then so i get a penny :) Also I would like to inform you that this site will soon be completely updated! Many parts of the site are very old and full of security holes, and since I am a lot better at web development now than i was when i made a lot of this site, i thought it was high time i sorted it ! someone is using a offers.txt link to spred virus', so far we've only seen it in www.sponspor.com/blablablabla link. if you see a link like that, dont click it. we are not sure about what it does but one guy claimed his account had been emptied after clicking it. i suggest you either stop clicking offers.txt links even though it seems he only posts them in pms. if you download and install firefox browser from http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ you wont get theese kinds of irc trojans / viruses, from txts and jpg files. you will have to set the browser as default browser, so thats what opens when you click links. when you use firefox, the page will show as some kind of code, if see this please notify an op or voice comments (0)

The diabloclone database is back up and running. Thank you to #dc.eu for maintaining it. The database is now tied into #dc.eu 's channel bot and also robotnic (our channel bot) so you can get a complete up to date overview of dc ips on the site and indevidual ip information on irc. We're very pleased that we are able to use the database again, and we hope you enjoy using it. It is free, and no need to log in or register to view it. Blizzard announced on their forums that the Queue time has been reduced because they implemented a "fix" against bots, if you try to create/join games constantly and rapidly you will get "game does not exist" error. the official post from Battle.net can be found Here. comments (0)

at 03:15 last night there was a takeover attempt, ie someone hacked one of our admins passwords and used it to cause problems in the channels. Some people were banned, channel modes was set, and generally just laming. We're very sorry for this and have taken steps to stop it happening again. These IRC trojans seem to be spreading, There is now a new one similar to the last one i posted a warning about. please download and install the updated trojan script here. Copy to your mirc directory and type '/load -rs trojan.mrc' to load it. All the script does is blocks the query, informs the infected person they are infected and lets you know that you have blocked a trojan. Old trojan is in yellow and the new on in orange. It's now official that the Ladder reset will be tomorrow - MHein said this on the battle.net forums: " A warning to all Diablo Ladder players - that Diablo II Season 1 Ladder will be reset tomorrow. Downtime for Battle.net will begin around 11:30 (UTC) time. We have now launched our new item database, there will be improvments so you can search for class specific items and such, also the images are still being uploaded so some of them may not display correctly but for all intents and purposes it works fine :D There is also a new irc trojan which doesnt cause any damage but does spam pms to people and i have noticed it is getting more and more out of hand. so please download and install this script. What it will do is respond informing the person they are infected with a trojan, close the query window and inform you that you have ignored an infected query. Our recent merge with a diabloclone channel has fallen through due to inactivity on their part. We'd hoped they could be a little more mature about things but i guess it wasn't to be. The reason for the merge in the first place was to avoid creating a THIRD dc channel, but now, as we have developed an IRC & web based system that talk to eachother, we have decided to make a new channel called #diablo2.dc. This is not to compete with the other established channels, but to allow users to take advantage of our irc bot and our site database. One thing you may not know about this system is that robotnic communicates with the site database so you can calculate any ip from IRC or you could simply use the table to see what's hot and what's not. You can also click on the server IP to 'spy' on that specific IP if it is hot for example. We're sorry for this unfortunate turn of events but it was unavoidable. We appreciate your continued support and are always striving to make this community the biggest and best on the net ! (or at least quakenet, hehe) comments (0)

Several normal users has reported lately that admins has stole their items during admin trades. It wasn't really any admin who stole their item(s). This is how it really works: normal users pretend to be admins. For example: Mr X (scammer) tells to Mr Y that he offers an annihilius for hoto. Mr Y accepts the trade and of course he wants an admin to help out with the trade, because he doesn't wants to get cheated. Mr X tells to Mr Y that he has spoke to Mellow (admin) and that Mellow (admin) is willing to help. Now Mr X creates an account, similar to the admin's nickname, for example: *Mellow-, and a character similar to the admin's nickname. Mr X and Mr Y joins a game, and then Mr X brings the fake admin char in. Mr Y is convinced that the fake char is the real admin on IRC because of the similar char-, acc- and nickname on IRC. The fake admin in the game, which is Mr X, tells to Mr Y that he wants the hoto. Mr Y gives the hoto to Mr X and then Mr X leave diablo and IRC. The conclusion of this: PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE ADMIN'S ACCOUNT IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS HE TELLS IT IS ON IRC - Mr Y COULD BE YOU (the accounts are also listed on this website. Mellow - 18/08/2004 00:48Diablo Clone Database Launched !
I have just this morning finished coding our new IP database I have added a link for it on this page. Hopefully we'll be able to keep it up to date. The ips are colour coded, blue=0-10 yellow=10-30 purple=30-50 orange=50-75 and red=HOT(75+). This is so you can quickly see where the action is happening. If you click on an IP it will then 'spy' that IP so you are taken to a page where you can see only that IP, this page will automatically refresh itself after one minute so you are always up to date. We have added an 'account' field on the staff profiles page, here you can find a list of accounts used by the respective staff member. We have added this a security measure to pervent you guys being conned by people claiming to be ops for our community. If you suspect someone is not who they claim to be then check on their profile page to see if the account they are using is listed there. OR you could just message them on IRC and make sure it is them. But be careful, we have had reports of people being conned in this manner before. comments (0)

I took the time to clean up in our forum since it had offers/needs from people all the way back to July 2003, so the forum looks quite empty now, also i deleted our Diablo2 Classic Forum since noone has used it after the release of 1.10. You should try scroll down to the bottom of the forum as well, there is a new forum made for the #Diabloclone.eu channel. We should be able to launch a new design soon. There will also be a website for the #Diabloclone.eu channel sometime in the future, with a dc table to show you hot IP's etc. ...STAY TUNED! :) comments (0)

#diablo2.treasurehunt is a chan where you can join in and see when a treasurehunt will take place. All you have to do is having a max lvl 5 char to join in. You join the game announced and go hunting for items that has been placed in the game. All items will be in act 1 and usually in the first 2 fields (cold plains and blood moor.). The expected time for a treasurehunt will be announced in topic, and first ones in get the goodies. It is not entirely elite items, but items that can be usefull for ppl with a low amount of items. have fun and good luck. comments (0)

We often get messages from people who have been scammed by some silly little kido, especially Anni trades. We would just like to remind you that we have a channel that can help you with your anni trades, it's called #Diablo2.help - The op's and voices in that channel can be trusted in trades, boosts, muling etc. Of course you have to trust our community to trust the op's and voices in the channels. The procedure of anni-trades is like this: Two guys wants to do an anni trade, they dont trust each other, so they agree to go to #diablo2.help and ask for help (which they will get when/if an op/voice is available), then they create a game and the op/voice join the game, both guys gives the items to the op/voice, the op/voice makes sure each of the traders gets each others item(s) - As simple as that. You can also chose to use this channel to ask for boosts, mules or anything d2 related. comments (0)

In this community we try and keep it as democratical as possible and vote amongst our admins on major decisions. However we thought it was time to involve the public a little bit so we wrote a voting system for the public. We plan on developing this system more in the future but this is a test run. I don't know how many of you are aware of RoBoTNiC but he was our channel bot and still has a certain amount of functionality in our channels, he is now host to our IRC voting system.

Now, how to vote! Please read this bit carefully. You must be authed with Q to vote and registered, to register you type '//mode $me +x'. This is to stop people voting more than once and to prove your identity. Once you have done this, if you haden't already, you type '/msg robotnic vote [your vote here]' obviously replacing [your vote here] with your vote. Although it is not necessary it would be far more conclusive if you included yes or no in your vote, for example '/msg robotnic vote yes - because he is kool!!!' or '/msg robotnic vote no because he smells of wee' You don't have to include why but it would be nice to get your opinion.
Finally, it is important you get it right first time as once you have submitted a vote it can not be changed or removed, and please don't vote unless you have an opinion on the matter, no point in voting if you don't know what you're voting on. Thanks a lot guys.

Today we added a new experience channel to our community, the channel is called #Diablo2.exp. It's not meant as a replacement for #folo but as a more global experience channel, for all experience runs you can think of, except for hell baalruns. The channel isnt running like #folo as there is no topic-script or anything like that, just post the game-name in channel or just ask around if somebody is interested in doing some experience runs. If you need more info you can join the channel and ask. We decided earlier last week to close down #Baalruns and re-open #folo again, this was done because many people on battle.net started using the game-name baalx so we figured we needed a new and unique name, that's where #folo came into the picture - See you around! comments (0)

The Shop on the forums as many of you know closed down few weeks before 1.10, we have now re-opened it again, You gain gold for posting on our forums, 2 gold for new topic, 1 for reply. You can see what items you can buy and how much gold you need by clicking on the "Shop" link at the top where all the menu's are. The items you can buy are on SC non-ladder for now. Prices have been dumped alot since 1.09 so you dont need that much gold to get a decent item now, check it out! :) comments (0)

I've noticed alot of people being scammed in trades with Annihilus or Gheeds, which are both unique charms that cant be shown in tradescreen. I just want to give some advise.... So here goes. First of all if you are trading with other people from one of our IRC-channels, then i would recommend you to use our channel #Diablo2.help, get an admin to hold... thats the SAFEST WAY !! - Second option is if you are trading with some random dude from battle.net... i would strongly advise NOT to do this though. But the only safe way is act 5... if one guy goes up to Malah, there is a ledge besides the big square thing, looks kinda like a furnace or something. and one goes past Qual-Kehk and turns right, then he will be on a ledge with a fence, then u can both see when the other guy drops... Just 2 warning here in the end.... Do NEVER drop ANY items infront of a necro for a wall, ALLWAYS have a wall between. This is due to the fact that some people take a joy in using their necro to make iron golem out of other peoples items.. (This may also be done if they have Metalgrid, so have a wall between at all times).... The last warning is: NO PALADINS !! If the use the right gear the can run so fast that u wont know what happend.... Hope u will notice this news... (late news :D) comments (0)

watch out when you want to sell items to people on irc, no matter how trusworthy they sound, they might want to cheat you. so if you ever see someone wanting to buy items and msg him to sell some, DONT GIVE HIM ITEMS AS ASURANCE!, no matter how nice he sounds. if he wants to buy items from him, make him send money for each items, and you'll give him the items after you get the money. and if he wants to buy you're whole acc, you should not give any items before recieving money. some people (including me) has been cheated this way :| comments (0)

As you maybe know , there is a IRC Virus which spreads pretty fast and can harm your PC .If you use Internet Explorer I advise you NOT to click on unknown links like : "http://www..../../itsme.jpg" . Just use another browser like mozilla or Netscape , then you should be on the safe side . If your pc is already infected start your pc in "safe mode" and run a virus scanner to delete it . comments (0)

It seems that there is a new dupe method out. It might be a good time to remind you all how many accounts were banned for using the last dupe method. I expect it will be patched soon and I don't think the duped items are permanent anyway. Just be advised, if a trade appears 'too good to be true' it quite possibly is. comments (0)

Right the site has now been launched MOSTLY on our server, however it appears to be lagging somewhat. If you experience any problems with the website please report them to Caseus or Turbolyn or just make a post on the tagwall. We think the lag and instability may be due to the fact that the mysql server and web server are on two different machines. Also be mindful that the site is not yet complete.
